The Moment I knew

Have you ever had a moment so impactful that it changed the course of your life? The kind of aha moment that makes you think - this is what I’m meant to do.

For me, that was in July 2023, when I had signed up for an online summit to learn more about how to run a successful venue. This summit was venue-specific and packed with incredible information from a number of highly experienced wedding experts. Little did I know, this learning experience would change my life.

I already had years of experience with coordinating, planning, and being involved in weddings through my rental company. But hearing experts talk about the venue side of things resonated with me on a different level. Suddenly, I could see the industry from a whole new perspective. The idea of being behind the scenes, seeing it from a venue’s perspective, I loved it. Learning has never come easily for me, but with all this information and real-life applications, it finally clicked and it felt thrilling.

Since then, I have thrown myself headfirst into learning all I can about venues, the wedding industry, the client experiences, vendor relations and the wedding industry as a whole. I had already learned so much over the course of owning my rental company, but I needed to learn more if I wanted to be involved in the venue side of things. Outside of what I have learned hands-on, I’ve:

• Listened to a number of wedding-specific podcasts

• Attended both in-person and online summits & courses focused on venues and wedding business growth.

• Invested in education to expand my skills and refine my vision for the future.

And I’m still learning every day, invigorated by the possibilities. If anyone reading this is interested in the same path, I want to share many of the same resources that have helped me.
