About
Hi, I’m Lorna and the creator behind this site — a creative, a host at heart, a wife of nearly 17 years, and a mum of three. I’ve always found joy in creating spaces where people feel welcome, whether it’s through a thoughtful table setting, a well-placed detail, or a moment of calm in the middle of life’s chaos.
For the past 10 years, I’ve owned a specialty event rental company, helping clients bring their celebrations to life through meaningful, personal touches. I’m an introvert at heart, but when I’m with my people, or when I see someone’s eyes light up from something I’ve helped create, I come alive.
I’ve recently begun a new chapter: one that blends my love of storytelling, design, and intentional living, as my family and I prepare for a move to the UK. Alongside this life shift, I’m nurturing a long-held dream — to one day own or run a wedding venue, a place rooted in beauty, belonging, and purpose.
Miles, Moves & Meaning is my personal blog: a space for sharing the journey, making sense of change, and documenting what it means to follow quiet ambitions. Before all this, I spent over 20 years in healthcare, a season that shaped my resilience, my work ethic, and my deep belief in caring for others. Now, I’m carrying those values forward into a new kind of work.
Life is busy and full, and while I don’t always have time to bake or binge a good rom-com, I dream of the slow moments , of travels not yet taken, of memories shared with friends, and of finally writing down my own love story. (We all have one — I just haven’t put mine to paper yet.) Until then, I’ll keep showing up in the in-between.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope this space feels a little like home.
